The Counterpoints : The 2001-2002 Season : Lawrence Central Central Sound Classic

Making it two in a row, Counterpoints won the Grand Champion award at the Lawrence Central Central Sound Classic on March 9th. It was another phenomenal performance by the entire group, as the band received the award for Best Instrumentals. In addition to being named Grand Champion, the Counterpoints also received awards for Best Visuals and Best Vocals.

The Counterpoints performed an excellent program of concert choir music at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Regional Conference in Chicago the same morning, and then then made the trip back to Indianapolis in time to compete Saturday afternoon. All in all it was a remarkable day, prompting the following remark from the always understated Pat Wiehe: "I think I'll remember this day for awhile."

The results in the Mixed Division were:

1st Runner-Up		Elite Energy, Eisenhower High School, Decatur, IL
2nd Runner-Up		Royalaires, Zionsville High School
3rd Runner-Up		Belles Et Beaux, Plainfield High School
