The Counterpoints were invited to sing the National Anthem at the
Indiana Pacers
home game on February 14. The opponent - the Atlanta Hawks. Not
all the Counterpoints were able to participate, of course, as it
would have taken quite a bit of time to have 50 people form a semi-circle
at center court. Consequently CP was represented by eight people:
Adria Williamson, Sarah Kleinman, Tina Swartzendruber, Gena Gorlin,
Michael Bair, Robert Martin, Kyle Falk and Jamie MacDougall.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to get photos of the group singing
(have you ever tried to take a photo when a group of very tall men
is standing between you and the subjects?) but the crowd enjoyed
the singing. The Counterpoints enjoyed the opportunity to participate
in the pre-game ceremonies, and the entire crowd (with the exception
of some folks from Atlanta) enjoyed the game, which ended with the
Pacers winning 98-97 in overtime.

Michael Bair and Sarah Kleinman relax
in the warm-up room before the game. Quietly, of course, so the
hypnotist in the next room (who is scheduled to perform at half-time)
can prepare for his act. You're getting very sleepy ....

The group prepares for warm-up, including the problem
of figuring out how eight people will crowd around - or hold - one
microphone.

Jamie MacDougall, Kyle Falk, Robert Martin
and the rest of the Counterpoints exchange high-fives with Boomer
as they head out to center court.

Doing their "Where's Waldo?" routine, Robert Martin,
Sarah Kleinman, and Jamie MacDougall don't quite
blend in with the crowd at Conseco. Might it have something to
do with those rugby's?

At the end of the evening the Pacers
down the Hawks, although not without going into overtime to
accomplish the task.
