Counterpoints Parents Organization (CPO), 2007-2008
Counterpoint Parent Organization 2007 - 2008
http://counterpoints.net
Welcome to the 2007 - 2008 Counterpoint year.
Our mission as the Counterpoint Parent Organization (CPO) is to
support the organization, its students and its Director, Pat Wiehe. Mrs.
Wiehe does a phenomenal job working with our students. She will have help
from Brent "Woody" Holland, the choreographer and Michael and
Pamela Runyan, the arrangers, but she depends on the CPO, as well!
Many opportunities exist for parents to help. Below are the CPO officers
and the committees:

Whatever your interest or talent, we have a job for you! Getting
involved is a great way to get to know the other parents, and more importantly,
all the Counterpoints!
Forms
Health forms must be completed in full, notarized and returned with your
singer on the first day of camp. Additionally, if your singer does not
carry a copy of your health insurance card, please attach a photocopy
of your card to the health form. Please understand that this information
is for the safety and protection of your student.
Financial Projections for the Year
The following is our best projection for your personal budgeting. You
will receive exact amounts as they become available. Each student has
an account to which expenses are charged. You will receive a monthly statement
from the treasurer detailing these expenses. Your student will have fundraising
opportunities. While no formal program for financial assistance exists,
you are encouraged to discuss your own circumstances with Mrs. Wiehe if
you will need to set up an extended payment plan.
Expense $ When Due
Costume Rental $310 $150 due in August
$160 due in September
Shoes $55-$60 August
Rugby Shirt $25 September
T-Shirt CP $10 fall
Set $10 February
Hose $10 as needed
Socks $2 as needed
Shoes, rugby shirts and CP t-shirts are one time expenses. They do not
need to be replaced each year. Additionally, women need a black long-line
bra with a built in panty or a long-line and a pair of black trunks. These
items are needed before the Counterpoint Camp in August. Kinney Dance
will come in during camp week to outfit new students with shoes. It is
recommended that all students have stops put on their shoes, and that
the women also purchase braces (the cost of stops and braces are included
above).
Fundraising opportunities:
Car Washes June 2, July 28 and August 11 at NCHS and June 9 at Donatos
PA Trash Bag Sale fall
Fruit Sale November
Please be aware that the actual costume bill is far greater than the
$310 you are being charged. Additional group expenses include choreography
and arrangements. The MIC Show Choir Competition hosted by NC in early
March is the primary fundraiser to offset these expenses. Your help in
making this event a success is critical!
Additionally there may be other expenses, including possible overnight
trips, in conjunction with competing and performing.
